Soil for foundations GRAVEL are very Good GRAVEL have a size from 4mm to 10mm.

Soil has sizes 1mm are not good for foundations.

reason for that

Cost is very high if the soil is below 1mm

Chances of crack and settlement is high if below 1mm.

In earthquake soil is subject to liquification of soil is possible so GRAVEL is very good for that.

Working in soil is also very risky.

Very high time consuming if below 1mm soil.

In loose soil may fall due to excavation so it creates problems in excavations.

If soil is above 1mm can be reused in the filling of PLINTH of building. Loose soil can not be used for filling and the cost of removing from is required.
